“Fatal Poisoning Incident Shocks Leicester Street”

A man has tragically passed away in a suspected poisoning incident that occurred on a bustling street in Leicester.

Authorities from Leicestershire Police responded to the Clarendon Park vicinity of the city just before 1.45 pm on Saturday, April 11, following reports of a man falling ill at a specific location.

The situation prompted a rapid and extensive emergency services intervention, leading to the closure of Queen’s Road as both Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene.

Despite receiving immediate medical attention on-site and being transported to a hospital, the man unfortunately succumbed to his condition shortly thereafter, according to officials.

After an initial investigation by law enforcement, a 41-year-old individual was apprehended under suspicion of administering toxic substances. Subsequently, the individual was released on bail, as reported by Leicestershire Live.

An ongoing inquiry is being conducted to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
