A woman has filed a lawsuit against an MRI clinic following the tragic death of her husband who was pulled into the MRI machine. Adrienne Jones-McAllister, 61, is taking legal action against Nassau Open MRI after her husband, Keith McAllister, 61, passed away during a visit to the New York radiology office where she was undergoing an MRI scan on her knee. The incident occurred on July 16, 2025, as Keith, wearing a large metallic chain around his neck, was inadvertently drawn into the MRI machine, resulting in fatal injuries.
Adrienne, who was present during the incident, witnessed her husband’s suffering until his passing the next day. She alleges that the clinic’s negligence and failure to provide proper warnings led to the tragic accident. The lawsuit claims that the clinic created dangerous conditions and did not inform Keith about the risks of wearing metal objects near the MRI machine.
Following the incident, Adrienne suffered severe emotional and physical injuries, including pain, disability, and loss of bodily function, as stated in the legal documents. Seeking unspecified damages, Adrienne emphasized the need for fair compensation for the losses she endured. She recounted the heartbreaking events, mentioning her husband’s multiple heart attacks and his eventual collapse in her arms during an interview with News 12 Long Island.
During the incident, Adrienne and an MRI technician made efforts to free Keith before authorities were notified. It took nearly an hour for the chain to be removed from the machine, as described by Adrienne’s daughter, Samantha Bodden, who refuted claims that Keith was unauthorized to be in the MRI room.
In the aftermath of the tragedy, Adrienne expressed her profound grief and disbelief, highlighting the emotional toll the incident had taken on her. The Nassau County Police Department confirmed that the cause of the incident was attributed to Keith wearing a large metallic chain that resulted in a fatal medical episode.
