“UK Set for Mini Heatwave with Temps Above 20C”

Date:

Temperatures are expected to soar once again this week, as per weather forecasters. Projections indicate that the mercury could climb to around 20C by Thursday, with the warmest areas likely to be in the East and Southeast regions of England. Following a wet and windy weekend, significant rainfall was recorded in parts of Scotland and Cumbria.

The upcoming week’s forecast appears promising, with temperatures gradually rising and peaking on Thursday afternoon. A spokesperson from NetWeather mentioned that Thursday is expected to be drier and sunnier, with only isolated light showers. The temperatures are forecasted to reach the mid-teens in England, Wales, and eastern Scotland, possibly reaching the high teens in eastern England.

Experts at Metdesk are even predicting temperatures to surpass 20C in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Greater London, and other regions. Some forecasters have likened the upcoming weather to a “mini heatwave,” with several consecutive sunny and dry days expected across most parts of the country. Thursday is forecasted to be particularly dry, especially in the East of England.

Despite the balmy temperatures, there may be thunderstorms in some areas on Wednesday, including Northern Ireland and parts of the Northwest of England. Wales is also expected to experience adverse conditions on Wednesday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather outlook shows a contrast from the previous days. The Met Office acknowledges this shift, noting that temperatures are likely to be “warmer than average” until at least next week, with dry and settled weather expected across many regions.

The rising temperatures are anticipated to pose challenges for hay fever sufferers, a condition affecting millions in the UK. An NHS GP is advising hay fever sufferers to explore different treatment options this year alongside traditional remedies like antihistamines and nasal sprays. Dr. Asimah Hanif shared some unconventional tips to combat spring allergies, especially for those who need to spend time outdoors.
