Fans of Judge Judy’s sharp wit and no-nonsense approach will likely appreciate Levy’s courtroom style showcased in the trailer. Levy appears to mirror his mother’s energy, delivering quick-witted and cutting remarks from the bench, reminiscent of Judith Sheindlin’s renowned demeanor.
Interestingly, Sheindlin initially hesitated to pass on the gavel, admitting in the trailer that she wouldn’t have encouraged her son to take on the show years ago when she wasn’t ready to relinquish her role. She humorously expressed concern that Levy, with his talent, might outshine her, a thought she finds unsettling.
Set to debut on September 14, the new series, executive produced by Sheindlin, follows the success of the original “Judge Judy” show, which concluded after 25 seasons. Known for its iconic opening line, “The people are real. The cases are real. The rulings are final,” the show captivated audiences for years.
