Amanda Knox is making her first trip to the UK and is inviting people to meet her just a few miles away from where Meredith Kercher resided. The American, who has been both convicted and acquitted twice of the murder of the Leeds University student, will be in the country to promote her film ‘Mouth of the Wolf’. This visit follows the controversy sparked by her podcast discussing Lucy Letby.
Expressing her excitement about the upcoming trip, Knox revealed that the two screenings she will host have already sold out, with plans to release more tickets soon. Her documentary, directed by her husband Christopher Robinson, documents her return to the location of Meredith’s tragic death, featuring original songs sung by Knox for the soundtrack along with accompanying videos.
Having turned her wrongful conviction into a successful career encompassing books, podcasts, films, and stand-up comedy, Knox has announced two special screening nights in London on April 21 and 22. She extended a personal invitation to the public to attend these intimate screenings and engage in a Q&A session with her and her husband after the film.
The screenings will take place at the Greenwich Picturehouse. While supporters view Knox as a victim of injustice, critics argue that she has capitalized on Meredith’s murder for personal gain. Since her final acquittal in 2015, Knox has remained in the public eye, engaging in various projects related to her case and experiences.
Meredith’s family has expressed discomfort at the association of her name with Knox’s endeavors, as they continue to mourn her tragic death in 2007. The events leading to Meredith’s murder, where she was a student at the University of Leeds on an exchange program in Italy, are well-documented. The case involved Knox and her then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, leading to a series of trials and legal battles that eventually resulted in Knox’s definitive acquittal.
Despite the challenges and legal battles she faced, Knox has embraced her experiences as part of her narrative, leveraging them into various creative outlets. Her journey from incarceration to freedom and subsequent public life has been marked by controversy and mixed perceptions, with ongoing discussions about her involvement in the case and the impact on all parties involved.
