Luke Littler expressed gratitude towards his family and girlfriend for their unwavering support during what he described as a challenging period. Littler emerged victorious over Luke Humphries in the Premier League final, securing his second title on Thursday night before becoming emotional and shedding tears.
The 19-year-old triumphed in a nail-biting 11-10 final leg to join the ranks of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, and Gary Anderson as multiple winners of the prestigious competition. Displaying exceptional form, he achieved an average score of 111.67 and hit 12 maximums in a spectacular showdown against Humphries, clinching not only the championship title but also a prize purse of £350,000.
Despite his success, Littler faced challenges during his Premier League campaign, enduring moments of hostility as the No.1 player, following an altercation with Gian van Veen in Manchester. The pressure mounted over the 17-week period, culminating in an emotional outpouring upon his clinching victory with a double top finish.
During the post-match celebration, Littler disclosed that he had contemplated quitting due to the crowd’s negative reception, confiding in his girlfriend, Faith Millar. Following his redemption over Humphries, whom he had previously lost to in the 2025 final, he expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering support of his family and close companions.
Taking to Instagram, Littler penned: “This Premier League has presented me with one of the toughest challenges, and I could not have achieved this without the backing of everyone by my side. I am immensely grateful to all. Together, we did it.”
In a separate video message, he shared: “Hello everyone, what an incredible journey it has been throughout the 17 weeks of the Premier League. Once again, we emerge victorious. The trophy is back in my hands.
“It has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I am overjoyed with the win, grateful for the unyielding presence of my family and sponsors week after week. Let the celebrations begin, and my heartfelt thanks to everyone for their continuous support throughout the year, looking forward to the journey ahead. See you next week in Copenhagen.”
