Russia has issued a direct threat to target locations in the UK that it claims are aiding Ukraine in its conflict against Moscow. The Russian defense ministry has identified several production facilities allegedly supplying Ukrainian armed forces with military equipment used against Russia. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine began in February 2022 when Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine.
According to reports from The Mirror, three of the threatened addresses are in London, Leicester, and Suffolk. The Russian defense ministry stated that European countries have increased production and supply of drones to Ukraine, which they view as a provocative move leading to a potential military escalation in Europe.
The ministry warned of possible “terrorist attacks against Russia” that could have unpredictable consequences. Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Kremlin official and former Russian president, emphasized the seriousness of the threat, stating that the list of European facilities producing drones and equipment could become targets for Russian armed forces.
In addition to the UK sites, the Russian defense ministry identified alleged production facilities in several other European countries. The Daily Express previously highlighted safe places in the UK in case of a potential World War 3 outbreak, suggesting areas away from major military bases and densely populated cities as preferable locations to visit.
Experts recommended these locations as the safest places to be in a worst-case scenario.
