“Michigan Teen Rescued by Gas Station Employee from Alleged Kidnapper”

Date:

A 16-year-old girl in Michigan was rescued from an alleged kidnapper after silently signaling for help to a gas station employee. The incident unfolded when the girl, who had been waiting at a bus stop in Hamtramck, was reportedly abducted at gunpoint by Donald Fields. Another student who witnessed the abduction immediately called 911 as Fields drove away.

According to prosecutors, Fields then sexually assaulted the girl before taking her to a petrol station, where they were spotted by Abdulrahman Abohatem, the store worker. The girl managed to convey a distress signal to Abohatem, who intervened and safely removed her from the situation.

Law enforcement officers, alerted by students who tracked the girl’s location, swiftly responded to the scene. Bodycam footage captured the arrest of Fields as he exited the store. He was subsequently charged with multiple offenses, including criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, and firearm-related charges due to his prior criminal record.

During his arraignment, Fields pleaded not guilty and is currently held without bond. Prosecutors commended the girl’s quick thinking and bravery in the face of danger, emphasizing the importance of seeking justice for the victim. Fields is scheduled to appear in court on April 30.
