“Man Dressed as Wizard Private Detective Attempts Home Break-In”

Date:

A man was caught on camera demanding entry into a home where a mother and her child were alone. The unsettling video clip captured the man, dressed in a long coat, anime T-shirt, and glasses, questioning the homeowner through a Ring doorbell camera. He insisted on entering the house and inquired about the owner’s daughter’s whereabouts.

Despite the homeowner’s repeated requests for the man to leave, he persisted in knocking on the door and staring into the camera. The situation escalated when the man started banging on the door, removing the doorbell, and attempting to break in by kicking the door.

The man, identified as Jason Nichols, 30, claimed to be a fictional wizard private detective named Harry Dresden. While the homeowner’s husband was away, Nichols tried to gain entry into the house where a woman and child were present. The husband, alerted by a security camera, rushed back home and confronted Nichols with a shovel as he entered through a sliding glass door.

A physical altercation ensued between Nichols and the homeowner, resulting in head injuries for both parties. Police arrived at the scene on April 7, arrested Nichols, and charged him with multiple felonies. He was taken to a medical center for treatment before being booked into jail.

The disturbing incident was captured on video and shared widely online, garnering millions of views. Authorities reassured the public by commending the homeowner for his actions in protecting his family during the ordeal. Nichols faces charges including gross bodily injury, intent to terrorize, first-degree burglary, and vandalism, with bail set at $35,000 (£26,000).
