The decision to cancel the shows at Kraft’s Gillette Stadium this weekend was made in light of anticipated stormy weather conditions, including strong winds of up to 64 kilometers per hour in the Foxborough area near Boston. Messina Touring, Sheeran’s touring group, announced the cancellation in an Instagram post after consulting with local authorities.
Ticket refunds for the cancelled concerts will be processed through the original point of purchase, as confirmed by the touring group. This development comes as Macklemore unveiled his own tour benefiting organizations supporting Palestinians, criticizing the influence of the “billionaire class” on silencing certain voices in the entertainment industry.
Prior to his removal, Macklemore had performed at two shows in New Jersey as part of Sheeran’s Loop Tour, where he expressed support for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The decision to drop Macklemore was reportedly influenced by stadium owner Robert Kraft’s concerns over the rapper’s statements and past controversies.
