“Cannabis-Fueled Push: Man Sentenced for Tower Block Incident”

Date:

A man, Jordan Herring, 22, showed no remorse as he was sentenced for pushing his 18-year-old partner, Bobbie Goodman, out of a tower block window in Solihull, West Midlands. The incident, fueled by a cannabis-induced argument, was captured on chilling CCTV footage. Fortunately, Ms. Goodman landed on grass, narrowly avoiding more serious injuries. Despite suffering life-changing harm, she was not helped for an hour post-fall and was later airlifted to the hospital with multiple injuries.

Herring was convicted of unlawful wounding but acquitted of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He received a five-year sentence with an additional one-year license. Additionally, he was found guilty of controlling and coercive behavior towards Ms. Goodman. Following the sentencing, Herring, who has become a father since the incident, displayed inappropriate behavior in court, laughing and showing indifference to the severity of his actions.

The judge criticized Herring for using the tower block as a dangerous weapon and highlighted his lack of remorse and insight into his behavior. Herring, a repeat offender with a history of violence, received a twelve-month sentence for coercive behavior and a four-year custodial term for unlawful wounding. He will have to serve a significant portion of his sentence before being considered for release on an extended license.

The court heard that Herring’s relationship with Ms. Goodman quickly turned controlling and abusive, leading to the tragic incident. Ms. Goodman expressed her gratitude for surviving the ordeal and reflected on the toxic nature of her relationship with Herring. She vowed to never allow such abuse to happen again and acknowledged the damage it caused to her and her family.
