Nathan Fielder, the Canadian comedian, writer, and director, has unveiled his next project following the latest season of “The Rehearsal.” Fielder released a teaser for his upcoming documentary focusing on the story of Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, who was convicted of fraud in 2022. The documentary, titled “You Can See Everything,” was created in collaboration with filmmaker Lance Oppenheim and centers around the period leading up to Holmes’s imprisonment in 2023.
Oppenheim, known for his previous works such as “Spermworld” (2024) and “Some Kind of Heaven” (2020), has joined forces with Fielder for this project. Fielder gained popularity through his show “Nathan For You” on Comedy Central, where he humorously provided misguided business advice. His reputation further grew with segments on CBC’s “This Hour Has 22 Minutes” titled “Nathan On Your Side” in 2008 and 2009.
The documentary, distributed by A24, features the company’s distinctive visual style and ambiance. The trailer showcases an intense moment between Holmes and Fielder, with Holmes asserting her honesty, prompting a skeptical response from Fielder.
The teaser was revealed at a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado, generating positive reactions from critics on social media. Director Daniel Howat described the documentary as “hysterical, shocking, and insane,” while music producer Erik Nordgren hailed it as the best film of the year, praising its unique structure and style.
The documentary’s trailer alludes to Fielder’s past uncomfortable interviews, such as one with former CBC president Hubert T. Lacroix in 2008. “You Can See Everything” is scheduled for theatrical release next month, building anticipation among audiences for Fielder’s latest cinematic endeavor.
