Apple has launched AppleCare One in the UK, extending the service previously available in the US. This subscription offers British customers a convenient and potentially cost-effective way to safeguard multiple Apple devices under a single plan.
Priced at £16.99 per month, AppleCare One provides coverage for up to three eligible devices, such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or offer up to three replacements annually, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One enhances the existing AppleCare+ features, which include unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery services, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The standout feature of AppleCare One is the ability to protect multiple devices with a single subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans.
This consolidated approach can lead to significant cost savings. Apple estimates that individuals covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 monthly compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss coverage for each device.
A notable advantage of AppleCare One is its flexibility regarding device age. Eligible products up to four years old can be added to the plan as long as they are in good condition. This contrasts with the standard 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ post-device acquisition.
AppleCare One also simplifies the upgrade process. When a covered device is traded in for a new one from Apple, the old product is automatically removed from the plan, and the new device is seamlessly added without additional steps.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the customer-centric approach of AppleCare One, stating that it offers a straightforward and adaptable solution for UK customers to protect their devices under one comprehensive plan.
