Amazon is introducing a major update for Fire TV devices this month, promising a revamped experience that is cleaner, faster, and more organized. The updated interface aims to simplify content discovery for users.
The new features include categorized sections for easier navigation through movies, TV shows, news, live content, and sports from various services. Users can now pin favorite apps to the home screen and access a user-friendly menu system. Additionally, a new Shortcut Panel can be instantly accessed by pressing and holding the Home button without interrupting video playback.
Notably, the latest system update, available for free download, offers a performance boost of up to 30%. As the summer football season approaches, Fire TV users will have access to a dedicated football hub for match schedules and live game streaming through local providers.
The updated Fire TV experience is currently rolling out to Fire TV Stick HD (newest model) and Amazon Ember Artline devices, with plans to extend the changes to other models like the Fire TV Stick 4K Max soon.
Amazon has expressed excitement about expanding the new experience to more Fire TV devices in the future and advises users to stay tuned for updates on device availability. If users do not see the update yet, they can try restarting their device to trigger the update process automatically.
