Toronto Raptors Set to Open NBA Season at Home Against Chicago

Date:

The Toronto Raptors are set to kick off the upcoming NBA season with a home game, continuing a longstanding tradition of starting at home for the majority of recent seasons. The NBA has officially released the schedule for the 2026-27 season, with the Raptors tipping off on October 21 against the Chicago team at Scotiabank Arena. Following this, the Raptors will hit the road for their first away game against Washington two days later.

Highlighted matchups in the Raptors’ home schedule include consecutive games against the reigning champions, the New York Knicks, on November 15 and 17, as well as a face-off against Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs on December 10 and a showdown with Canadian talent Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 10.

January will be the busiest month for the Raptors, with a total of 17 games scheduled, including a six-game stretch at home. Additionally, the team will face a challenging 15 back-to-back games throughout the season, with seven of these instances requiring no travel.

While 80 of Toronto’s 82 games have been announced, the final two will be scheduled after the conclusion of the in-season NBA Cup tournament. Despite the exciting lineup, the Raptors will not be part of the coveted Christmas Day games this season, a tradition they have been excluded from since their championship-winning year in 2019.
