Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent update rollout by the UK TV platform. The update includes changes to the channel lineup and TV guide, with certain broadcasters implementing adjustments that necessitate a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.
The update introduces four key changes. Firstly, three channels have undergone rebranding, resulting in new names displayed in the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now That’s 20th Century, showcasing music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now known simply as That’s Classics.
In addition to the rebrands, a new channel called That’s Entertainment will launch on Channel 75. While specific program listings are not yet widely available, more details are expected shortly. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the ongoing adjustments made by broadcasters to maintain diverse and current content offerings.
Users with Freeview should see these changes reflected in the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm your willingness to delete existing channels.
6. Your device will then automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is considered significant, making it advisable to retune sooner rather than later to ensure uninterrupted viewing experience.
