Priced at £39.99 and slated for release later this month, this latest entry-level gadget is notably slimmer and more stylish. With a 30% reduction in width, it not only fits seamlessly behind TVs but also offers enhanced portability for users on the move by drawing power from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter.
Amazon described the new Fire TV Stick HD as their thinnest streaming device yet, optimized for Direct Power through the TV’s USB port for a more compact fit behind the TV. Similar to other Fire TV Sticks, it provides instant access to popular streaming services like Disney+, Apple TV, Prime Video, iPlayer, ITVX, and Netflix. Additionally, it includes a convenient remote with Alexa voice search and quick app launch buttons.
While the Fire TV Stick HD does not support 4K quality, it offers full HD viewing suitable for most households. Amazon emphasizes significant speed enhancements compared to previous HD models, with the new device being over 30% faster on average. This results in quicker boot-up times and faster app loading. Running on the latest Fire operating system, users can expect a cleaner interface, improved recommendations, and a streamlined content discovery process.
