Budget hotel chain Travelodge has updated its pet policy in preparation for the upcoming busy travel season in May and summer. The chain currently allows pets in all of its hotels, including both standard and SuperRooms. Each room can accommodate up to two domesticated animals, such as cats or dogs.
Previously, there was a flat fee of £20 per pet per stay to cover additional cleaning costs. However, this fee has been increased to £25 per stay. Travelodge explained that this adjustment is necessary due to rising operational expenses. Despite the price increase, the hotel chain remains competitive and offers value for pet owners compared to other establishments.
Customers traveling with pets can easily add them to their booking during the payment process. While pets are welcome in rooms, they are typically not allowed in bar and restaurant areas. However, assistance dogs are exempt from any additional charges at all Travelodge locations.
In related news, a European airline recently announced plans to allow dogs in the cabin, sparking a debate on pets in public spaces. Additionally, a survey revealed that a majority of dog owners base their holiday choices on their pets’ preferences. Top dog-friendly travel destinations in the UK include Devon and Cornwall.
The survey also showed that most dog owners prioritize holiday destinations with suitable walking areas for their pets. Many pet owners plan their travel routes around dog-friendly rest stops to ensure a pleasant experience for their furry companions.
