A woman driving her elderly mother in Merseyside experienced a harrowing incident when a stranger leaped into her car and attacked a man in the back seat in a scene reminiscent of a horror movie.
The unsettling episode unfolded on Park Road South in Merseyside, where the woman offered refuge to a man she noticed being pursued on the street. Upon seeing the man being chased by two individuals on a moped, she quickly allowed him into her vehicle. However, to her shock, one of the pursuers also entered the car and proceeded to stab the man in the leg.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, the woman, who opted to remain anonymous, recounted the terrifying moment when she accelerated to dislodge the attacker from her car. Her swift action enabled the injured man to receive prompt medical care, as confirmed by Merseyside Police who swiftly transported him to the hospital for urgent treatment.
The woman described her initial confusion upon encountering the distressed young man, speculating that he might be under the influence of drugs due to his erratic behavior of trying car door handles while yelling. She narrated how the situation escalated when she noticed the moped with two individuals trailing the man.
Recounting the chaotic scene, she emphasized the brutal nature of the attack as the assailant viciously stabbed the victim in the back seat of her car in front of her mother. Her decisive move of accelerating forcefully knocked the attacker out of the car, creating a chaotic and blood-stained environment.
Following the incident, the 18-year-old victim, who sustained two stab wounds to his leg, received treatment at Aintree Hospital and has since been discharged. Merseyside Police reported the arrest of a 17-year-old boy from Noctorum on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent, robbery, and possession of a controlled Class B drug. The suspect has been conditionally bailed while further investigations are ongoing.
