A tragic incident occurred over the weekend resulting in the death of a six-year-old boy who was struck by a car. The incident took place on Anchor Drive in Ellesmere Port around 11.40 am on Sunday, April 19, involving a black Infiniti FX30D.
Following the collision, the boy was rushed to the hospital accompanied by family members, where both police and paramedics met them near Whitby Sports and Social Club. Despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
The boy’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialized officers. A 48-year-old local man was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and driving without a valid license. He has been released on bail pending further investigation.
