A search is ongoing for two individuals who abducted a young woman into a tow truck on a bustling street, according to the Metropolitan Police in London. Authorities express concerns for the well-being of the unidentified woman, estimated to be between 28 and 32 years old.
Law enforcement officials urge any witnesses to a potential altercation involving the young woman and a tow truck in Canary Wharf on Tuesday, September 30 to provide information. The incident, which prompted a call to the police at approximately 11:25 pm, occurred on Millharbour Road, near Lighterman’s Road, where two men allegedly forced the woman into a white Ford Transit tow truck.
The Metropolitan Police’s Central East Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating the matter. Detective Inspector Grant Stevens, leading the probe, emphasizes the need to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident and expresses concerns for the well-being of the young woman, who remains unidentified.
Individuals who may have observed anything suspicious near Millharbour Road, E17 around the time of the incident are encouraged to step forward with any potential CCTV or mobile phone footage that could assist in the investigation. A 42-year-old man from east London was apprehended on Wednesday, October 1 on suspicion of kidnapping in connection to the case and has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
