Amid mounting pressure and scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew did not resist when King Charles initiated the process to remove all his royal titles and expel him from Royal Lodge. Buckingham Palace announced the King’s decision to strip Andrew of his titles, including ‘prince,’ and evict him from the Royal Lodge where he paid minimal rent for two decades.
The move comes after growing concerns about Andrew’s association with the convicted sex offender Epstein, despite his denial of any wrongdoing. The disgraced royal reportedly accepted the King’s actions without objection and is expected to relocate from Royal Lodge to a new residence on the Sandringham Estate, privately funded by the King.
In a statement, Buckingham Palace stated, “His Majesty has commenced the formal procedure to revoke Prince Andrew’s Style, Titles, and Honors. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. The Palace has served formal notice for him to vacate Royal Lodge and move to alternative accommodation, emphasizing that these measures are necessary despite his denial of the allegations.”
The royal family, including Prince William, has reportedly supported King Charles’ decision to strip Andrew of his titles. Political leaders, such as Sir Ed Davey and Stephen Flynn, have also backed the move, calling it a significant step for the victims of Epstein. The decision to remove Andrew from his titles and Royal Lodge residence was made due to concerns about his judgment, despite his continued denial of the accusations against him.
