A convicted porn actor faced his sentencing today for murdering a couple and dismembering their bodies in a chilling case near the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Yostin Andres Mosquera, a Colombian national, received a life sentence with a minimum of 42 years behind bars for the gruesome crimes.
The court learned that Mosquera callously killed 62-year-old Albert Alfonso by slashing his throat during a recorded sex game, while also fatally attacking Alfonso’s partner, 71-year-old Paul Longworth, with a hammer. Mosquera then decapitated and dismembered the victims, stashing their heads in a freezer and moving the remains to Bristol in suitcases.
His plan to dispose of the body parts over the bridge was thwarted when suspicious bridge staff intervened. Mosquera was later apprehended at a railway station in Bristol. The court revealed that Mosquera had a history of engaging in extreme sexual activities with Alfonso, leading to the brutal murders.
The prosecutor highlighted Mosquera’s premeditated intent to kill the victims for financial gain. Mosquera’s chilling online searches and actions indicated his calculated plan to steal from the couple and dispose of their bodies. Despite Mosquera’s claims of manslaughter, the jury found him guilty of both murders.
Psychiatric evaluations found no mental health disorders to mitigate Mosquera’s actions. The judge emphasized the heinous nature of the crimes and sentenced Mosquera to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 42 years, cautioning that he might never be deemed safe for release.
Additionally, Mosquera pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, leading to further sentencing for possessing unlawful images of children. The court condemned Mosquera’s involvement in sharing indecent images and imposed concurrent prison terms for the offenses.
In a statement outside the court, law enforcement officials expressed the gravity of the case, acknowledging the brutality of the murders and the impact on the victims’ loved ones. The sentence was hailed as a step towards justice for the senseless killings, ensuring the dangerous offender is held accountable for his actions.
