The Ottawa Redblacks have now set a new record for the longest losing streak in the modern history of the CFL. This surpasses the Shreveport Pirates’ 14-game losing streak in 1994, according to CFL historian Steve Daniel.

Traditionally, the Redblacks celebrate touchdowns by cutting a log section, known as a “wood cookie,” with the team’s logo seared into it. However, with the current lack of victories, this tradition has seen limited use.
In addition to setting a modern-day CFL record, the Redblacks’ losing streak now ranks as the third-longest in CFL history, dating back to 1907. A defeat against the Montreal Alouettes would tie them with the Hamilton Wildcats for the second-longest streak.
Daniel highlighted the need for a roster rebuild, particularly on the defensive side, to address the team’s struggles. Despite the challenges, Fata emphasized the importance of unwavering support for the team through thick and thin.
The Redblacks’ difficulties are evident in their performance in the red zone, where they have the lowest success rate in the league. Fans like Fata remain optimistic, viewing support for the team as essential during tough times.
