Local residents have reported that a woman found deceased in a well-known coastal town was spotted by members of the public.
An 18-year-old man is currently held in custody on suspicion of murder following the discovery of the woman in the Morfa region of Prestatyn, North Wales, around 8:40 am yesterday.
The woman’s formal identification is pending. North Wales Police are actively investigating the scene today, with additional officers slated to be deployed in the area over the weekend to offer community support.
Authorities have clarified that they are not actively seeking any other individuals linked to the case.
Last evening, Superintendent Lee Boycott of North Wales Police stated, “We are not currently searching for any other individuals in connection with the incident. There is no indication of a broader threat to public safety.”
“Extensive inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s demise, and we urge people to stay away from the area.
“Enhanced patrols will be maintained today and over the weekend to ensure that our communities feel secure and supported in light of this event.
“We also urge the public to refrain from speculating online about the incident and to promptly report any concerns or information to law enforcement.”
