Meghan Markle has introduced two new products in her As Ever Mother’s Day collection, which draw inspiration from her young children. The Duchess of Sussex’s lifestyle brand has unveiled two candles paying tribute to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, incorporating elements of their royal status.
These new limited edition releases will be available for purchase starting Wednesday. They include Signature Candle No. 506, a reference to Prince Archie of Sussex’s birthdate on May 6, and Signature Candle No. 604, honoring Princess Lilibet’s birthday on June 4. This launch marks As Ever’s expansion into a broader range of fragrances and apothecary products, complementing its existing candle collection.
The 506 candle, associated with Meghan’s six-year-old son, features a blend of ginger, neroli, and cashmere scents, promising a warm and comforting ambiance for any space. On the other hand, the candle inspired by her four-year-old daughter, Lilibet, combines amber, water lily, and santal, offering a light and floral fragrance that adds brightness and openness to the home. Both candles will be priced at £47 each.
Ahead of the release, Meghan shared insights with Town & Country magazine, highlighting As Ever’s evolution from a jam-making brand to a comprehensive homeware destination. She expressed her vision for As Ever to enhance various aspects of life, whether as a host, guest, friend, or mother.
The candles’ names and scents are directly linked to Meghan’s children, with their full royal titles, “Prince Archie of Sussex” and “Princess Lilibet of Sussex,” serving as sources of inspiration. In 2024, it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan chose the Sussex title as a surname for their children, aiming to unite their family under a common identity.
While Meghan’s supporters online welcomed the Mother’s Day collection announcement, critics raised concerns about her use of the children’s full royal titles, questioning the decision given the couple’s departure from royal duties six years ago. Some also questioned Meghan’s choice to prominently feature her children’s names and titles despite her previous efforts to shield them from public attention.
Notably, a previous candle release by Meghan paid tribute to her wedding day, part of the Christmas collection last year. The candle, named 519 to commemorate Harry and Meghan’s wedding on May 19, 2018, featured fragrances of Moroccan mint and white tea.
