The popular CBC comedy, inspired by Critch’s bestselling memoir, is set to return for its fifth and final season on September 8, marking the last journey through Newfoundland. Reflecting on his experiences, Critch, who portrays his own father in the show, expressed his satisfaction with how the series wraps up, highlighting the significance of the last episode.

In this concluding season, the narrative intertwines Mark’s final year of high school with Newfoundland’s cod moratorium, leading to a tumultuous period filled with first love, evolving friendships, and family challenges. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, known for his role as young Critch, described the journey as a remarkable one, having dedicated a significant portion of his life to the character.
