An individual has passed away after being ejected from a boat and deserted at a vacation spot on the Costa del Sol.
The tragic incident occurred at approximately midday today in Puerto Banus, located southwest of Marbella. Reports suggested that the boat in question was equipped with four high-powered engines, although the Civil Guard has refrained from making any official statements. Eyewitnesses recounted that the individuals on the semi-rigid boat abandoned the victim near a fuel station before swiftly departing. Upon arrival, emergency services declared the man deceased at the scene.
Contradictory reports indicated that the unidentified man, estimated to be around 30 years old, was thrown into the sea close to the filling station before being rescued from the water and pronounced dead. Law enforcement sources indicated no visible signs of physical assault on the victim.
Online footage displayed numerous National Police and Civil Guard vehicles at the location, positioned alongside the yachts docked in the port, with an ambulance also on-site.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to Malaga’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination. Authorities connected to the investigation have not dismissed the possibility that the victim might have been involved in a drug-related conflict.
A series of shootings in Puerto Banus and its neighboring areas in recent times have prompted extensive police actions during peak tourist seasons, including crackdowns on upscale clubs.
On October 3, Hamza Karimi, a 25-year-old Swedish musician known as Hamko, was fatally shot during daylight hours in Puerto Banus. Karimi had previously associated with award-winning Swedish artist Einar, who was also shot dead in Stockholm shortly before testifying in a trial related to his gunpoint abduction in 2020.
Spanish law enforcement confirmed that Karimi succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Costa del Sol Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Subsequently, a 38-year-old male was apprehended near the scene and later detained by a judge following a court appearance.
In June of the previous year, Erling Haaland, a prominent player for Manchester City, found himself involved in a highly publicized police operation at the Playa Padre beach club in Marbella. The Norwegian footballer was captured on video retrieving his identification from his pockets after being approached by officers wearing balaclavas. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old individual.
In March of the same year, a shooting incident occurred at La Sala, a restaurant managed by British personnel, leading to the apprehension of two individuals with suspected ties to organized crime.
Following these instances of violence, television personality Kerry Katona revealed that she had opted against relocating to the Costa del Sol with her family, including her then-fiancé Ryan Mahoney, due to concerns about safety.
