This move by Trump comes amidst a public feud with Pope Leo, where he criticized the American-born Catholic leader as being “very liberal.” This is not the first instance of Trump hinting at a religious persona, as he previously shared an image of himself resembling a pontiff after the death of Pope Francis, drawing criticism once again.
