Nigel Farage is facing accusations of deception, with Labour launching a significant advertising campaign targeting Reform’s actions. Labour Party chair Anna Turley has vowed to unveil Reform’s track record to voters, cautioning against the potential impact of Farage gaining influence.
As the local election season intensifies, Labour’s ad van initiative, named ‘Not on your side,’ will spotlight Reform’s negative history in Parliament and public stances. This includes instances where Mr. Farage and Reform MPs opposed the pivotal Employment Rights Bill, which was enacted into law in late 2025. The bill encompasses various measures like enhancing sick pay benefits and prohibiting contentious fire and rehire practices, which Reform aims to repeal if they come into power.
Furthermore, Labour’s campaign will draw attention to Reform’s intention to dismantle the Online Safety Act, a law safeguarding children online by enforcing age verification tools and regulating harmful content on tech platforms. The campaign will also highlight Reform’s resistance to the expansion of free school breakfast clubs in primary schools by rejecting the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
Anna Turley criticized Nigel Farage and Reform, labeling them as deceitful individuals who claim to support the working class while obstructing crucial reforms proposed by Labour. She emphasized the potential consequences of Farage gaining authority, including financial burdens on families and erosion of workplace rights.
Turley asserted that Labour’s campaign aims to expose the reality behind Farage’s facade, emphasizing that his attempts to deceive the working class will not go unnoticed. This intensified electoral battle follows expert predictions of Labour potentially losing a significant number of councillors in the upcoming crucial elections.
Reform UK has been approached for a response to these allegations.
