Ikea has announced the discontinuation of certain products from its popular Malm flat-pack furniture line, which has been around for almost 25 years. The phase-out process has already begun and is expected to be completed by 2027.
The Swedish retailer stated that the Malm collection will be replaced with new options tailored to contemporary preferences and needs. Prices for Malm items range from £15 for a glass top to £426 for a full bedroom set, including a bed frame and four chests of drawers.
The Malm range features various furniture pieces such as chest of drawers, dressing tables, and bed frames. Ikea has confirmed that parts of the Malm line will be globally phased out to align with current consumer demands.
Customer reactions to the news have been mixed, with some expressing nostalgia for the long-standing Malm products. Ikea shoppers have shared their fond memories of using Malm furniture over the years.
In other news, Ikea recently introduced a promotion called “Little Saturday” for its Family members, offering 50% off main meals every Wednesday until June 24. The deal aims to celebrate the midweek point and includes discounted prices on a variety of meal options.
Additionally, Ikea will unveil exclusive £5 homeware deals in-store every Wednesday, along with monthly discounts on selected products. The promotion includes discounts on items like soft toys and glassware throughout May.
