Fatal Plane Emergency Landing in Prince George: 1 Dead, Road Shut

Prince George RCMP have verified that a fatality occurred following an emergency landing of an aircraft on Foothills Boulevard, approximately 1.5 kilometers north of North Nechako Road. Two motor vehicles were reportedly part of the incident. The RCMP released a statement expressing sadness over the fatality of one of the vehicle occupants, while the condition of others involved remains unknown.

Authorities have advised the public to steer clear of the area as Foothills Boulevard has been shut down to vehicular traffic in both directions, with the closure expected to last throughout the night and into the next day. The Transportation Safety Board will be assuming control of the investigation, transferring from the local police.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in northern Prince George after a small plane made an apparent emergency landing on a busy roadway. The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. PT on Foothills Boulevard near Highland Drive, as confirmed by Prince George RCMP. B.C. Emergency Health Services responded promptly to the situation, dispatching medical personnel to assess and treat individuals involved.

Eyewitness Mohit Arora recounted the terrifying moment when the plane descended onto the road, narrowly missing his vehicle. He described how a pickup truck was struck by the aircraft’s wing, causing injuries to the truck’s driver. Fortunately, Arora’s car escaped damage from the aircraft’s propeller, but the harrowing experience left him shaken.
