Emma Raducanu Withdraws from Wimbledon Due to Stress Fracture

Date:

Emma Raducanu has made the difficult decision to withdraw from Wimbledon this year due to a stress fracture. The British No 1, who had been managing a leg injury, had hoped to compete in the tournament but confirmed her withdrawal on the eve of the championships.

In an Instagram post, Raducanu expressed her disappointment, stating that despite her efforts to overcome the injury, a final scan revealed a stress fracture that required her to stop pushing through. She thanked her supporters and expressed her eagerness to return to the court in the future.

Raducanu, seeded 30th, was set to play Antonia Ruzic in her Wimbledon opener but will now have to miss the event. Despite a recent strong performance at Queen’s Club, where she reached the final but was defeated by Donna Vekic, Raducanu will have to focus on recovery and sit out her home Grand Slam.

For those looking ahead, Wimbledon 2026 tickets with VIP access are currently available for purchase on Seat Unique.
