Canadian sprinter Andre De Grasse secured his fifth spot in the Diamond League Final following his performance in the 200-meter race at the Weltklasse Zürich meet. Despite finishing behind American Kenny Bednarek and South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile, De Grasse’s time of 20.03 seconds was a commendable effort. This race marked his return to the 200-meter event since his victory in Zagreb with a time of 19.95 seconds.
De Grasse, who holds the Canadian record of 19.62 seconds set during the 2021 Olympic final in Tokyo, aims to continue his success in the upcoming Diamond League Final. His journey to the final has seen notable achievements, including becoming Canada’s Diamond League Trophy recipient in 2023.
