The community’s revelations coincide with a recent public inquiry that highlighted the parental failure of Rudakubana’s mother and father, Alphonse Rudakubana and Laetitia Muzayire. The inquiry emphasized that the tragic murders of three young girls at a dance class could have been prevented if his parents had fulfilled their moral obligations by addressing the concerning signs of their son’s violent tendencies.
The inquiry chairman, Sir Adrian Fulford, condemned the parents for neglecting their responsibilities despite being aware of their son’s dangerous fixation with violence. Rudakubana, then 17 years old, carried out a horrific attack on a children’s dance class on July 29, 2024, resulting in the deaths of three girls and injuries to several others.
