“British Man Shot Dead in St Lucia, Murder Probe Launched”

Date:

A 26-year-old British man named Kenrelle O’Flaherty was discovered dead in St Lucia on Tuesday, having sustained gunshot wounds. O’Flaherty, who resided in Anguilla, was found shot in Garrand, Babonneau, situated on the North East coast of the island. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reported that officers from the Babonneau station were alerted to a deceased individual along a roadway around 10:50 pm. Upon reaching the scene, O’Flaherty was found with visible gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead on-site.

Originally hailing from London and residing in nearby Anguilla, O’Flaherty was believed to be on a brief visit to St Lucia. The duration of his stay on the island before the tragic incident remains unclear. Authorities have since initiated a murder investigation into the case.

A police source emphasized the need for anyone with relevant information to contact the major crimes unit, aiming to ascertain the purpose of O’Flaherty’s visit and his connections in the area. The victim’s background is limited, with details indicating his British nationality and visit from a neighboring island. Prompt action is essential to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In a separate incident, an 80-year-old woman named Suzanne Rees was discovered deceased on Lizard Island in Queensland, Australia, after being left behind by a cruise ship. Rees, who went missing during an organized hike and was only reported absent when she failed to attend dinner, faced a tragic fate as the cruise ship departed for its next destination.

The family of Ms. Rees criticized the perceived negligence on the part of Coral Expeditions, a subsidiary of National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA) in Australia, responsible for the 60-day cruise. Mark Fifield, the CEO of Coral Expeditions, expressed regret over the unfortunate event, stating that search and rescue operations were swiftly executed after the woman was reported missing. The company is fully cooperating with authorities and extending support to the bereaved family during this challenging period.

As investigations into both incidents progress, Coral Expeditions is actively engaging with law enforcement and refraining from additional comments until the inquiries are completed.
