“Armed Man Apprehended in Liverpool City Center Scare”

Armed police cordoned off a street in Liverpool city center last evening in response to reported threats against individuals in a property. Merseyside Police shut down Upper Parliament Street, with officers observed entering and exiting the historical Falkner Terrace building.

A police spokesperson confirmed that law enforcement personnel intervened and apprehended a man on suspicion of possessing a firearm, who was subsequently taken into custody. Despite intensive searches, no weapon has been discovered, and investigations are ongoing.

Following the incident, the temporarily closed road has now reopened. Merseyside Police received reports of a male making threats towards residents on Upper Parliament Street around 8:45 pm on Wednesday, November 5.

Witnesses described the situation, with one resident recounting an individual brandishing what seemed to be a firearm at a group of youngsters. Another resident mentioned hearing sirens and witnessing a significant police presence before the situation de-escalated.

The area has returned to normalcy, with police maintaining a presence at the scene. The arrested individual remains in custody on suspicion of firearm possession, as confirmed by a Merseyside Police spokesperson.

Traffic disruptions were reported, including bus services being temporarily halted. Merseyside Police responded to the incident following threats directed at the property occupants on Upper Parliament Street.
