Aldi has introduced a fresh wave of price reductions on more than 200 products, covering various categories such as fresh and frozen foods, pantry staples, household essentials, and personal care items.

For beverages, the reductions extend to products like New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Aperini Spritz 4-Pack, as well as Aldi’s Lacura SPF50+ Sensitive Lotion.
Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, emphasized the importance of offering great value without compromising quality, especially during times when customers are looking to manage their budgets for their weekly shopping needs.
In a similar move, Waitrose has reduced prices on over 160 own-brand products, investing £20 million to assist shoppers in saving money. The price cuts, averaging 12%, target various everyday essentials like free-range eggs, onions, chicken thighs, apples, frozen peas, chickpeas, and chopped tomatoes.
Nearly half of the reductions are on products from the Essential Waitrose range, marking the ninth round of New Lower Prices since 2023, totaling Waitrose’s investment to £162.5 million across more than 1,000 products.
Amidst supermarket news, grocery price inflation showed a slowdown this month, with prices 3.1% higher than a year ago in May, down from 3.8% in April and 4.3% in March, as per figures from Worldpanel by Numerator.
