After feeling stuck in life nearly four years ago, Sokvin Vann found solace in her love for K-pop and BTS, a popular boy band. She founded BTS Army Toronto on her brother’s advice, creating a community that has grown despite personal tragedy. The fan club, gearing up for BTS’s return to Toronto after more than a decade, organizes events, fundraisers, and supports local Korean businesses.
Vann, along with her son and a dedicated team, has built a strong community around BTS, fostering friendships and shared passion for music. As BTS prepares for sold-out shows at Rogers Stadium, Toronto has renamed a part of Yonge Street to BTS Boulevard and declared a weekend celebration for the band.
Known for their meaningful music addressing various topics, BTS has garnered a devoted following worldwide. The group’s tour, including a stop in Toronto, follows their successful album “ARIRANG,” which topped the Billboard charts. Fans eagerly anticipate the concerts, with some expressing gratitude for the band’s impact on their lives.
As excitement builds for the upcoming shows, BTS Army Toronto plans to engage fans through various activities during the Toronto Korean Festival. Vann looks forward to the unique concert experience at Rogers Stadium, where BTS will perform on a 360-degree stage. She anticipates the thrill of hearing surprise songs and sharing the post-concert connection with fellow fans.
