“Noel Clarke Faces Sexual Offenses Charges”

Date:

Noel Clarke, famous for his role in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, as announced by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The British actor and director, aged 50, gained prominence for portraying Mickey Smith on the BBC program from 2005 to 2010. The charges against Clarke include two counts of sexual assault, one charge of exposure, and three counts of voyeurism.

Voyeurism, as defined by CPS, involves observing or recording someone engaging in a private act without their consent, usually for sexual gratification. The alleged incidents involving Clarke reportedly occurred between 2007 and 2016 and are based on complaints filed by five women.

These charges come after a report by the Guardian in 2021, where 20 women accused Clarke of groping, harassment, and bullying, with claims of inappropriate behavior on the set of “Doctor Who.” Clarke denied these allegations vehemently. The recent charges resulted from an investigation that commenced in September 2025, as reported by the Guardian.

Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work in creating and starring in the teen crime films “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), exploring themes of drug abuse, bullying, and violence in London. He directed “Adulthood” and was involved in directing and producing “Brotherhood.” His filmography also includes appearances in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the TV series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
