“Russian Missile Attack Kills 10 in Ukrainian Village”

Date:

A village in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region was struck by a Russian missile attack on Tuesday, resulting in the death of 10 individuals, according to Ukrainian authorities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, noting that it targeted a busy area with residential buildings, a post office, and stores. Photos shared by Zelenskyy showed a demolished building, burning cars, and emergency responders aiding the injured.

The governor of the region, Oleh Syniehubov, reported that 17 people were injured in the assault. The strike caused damage to private buildings, a café, a post office, a store, and several vehicles in the village. Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office indicated that Russia deployed two small Banderol cruise missiles in the attack.

In response, Ukraine launched a significant drone offensive on Moscow and surrounding regions, deploying 620 drones in the early hours of Tuesday. Russian forces intercepted 180 drones over Moscow, with reports of casualties and damages yet to be disclosed. The drones targeted various facilities, including a warehouse of the Russian e-commerce company Wildberries.

In addition to the air assault, several other Russian-controlled regions, such as Crimea, experienced heavy drone attacks from Ukraine. Power supplies were disrupted in southern districts of Crimea due to the drone attacks. Meanwhile, Russia warned Britain about consequences for supplying drones to Ukraine for attacks on Russian territory, emphasizing the potential repercussions of increased involvement in the conflict.

Britain’s Defence Ministry did not confirm the use of British-made drones in the attacks. However, the ministry reiterated its support for Ukraine in defending against the Russian invasion and mentioned the commitment to providing necessary equipment. In a separate development, Britain previously announced plans to supply 150,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of a substantial funding package.
