WestJet has been criticized by Canada’s transport regulator for creating obstacles for travelers with disabilities, particularly due to restrictions on power wheelchairs on its planes. The company established the weight threshold after a technical evaluation in 2024 based on cargo hold weight limits per square inch for its Boeing aircraft.
