“Nightclub Security Charged After Assault on Winnipeg Basketball Player”

Three security personnel from a nightclub in downtown Winnipeg are facing assault charges following an incident that left a Winnipeg Sea Bears player with serious injuries earlier this month, according to authorities. Teddy Allen was hospitalized after being assaulted at the establishment on the early morning of August 3, as reported by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The three individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, who were employed at the nightclub, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm, as announced by the police in a news release on Thursday. They have all been released on undertakings. While the police did not disclose the name of the nightclub, they indicated that it is situated on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues. Allen has undergone medical examinations, received a diagnosis, and is currently recuperating at home, according to a statement issued by the team on Thursday. Allen expressed that the assault was unwarranted and should not have occurred to anyone under any circumstances.
