Brothers Brewing, situated on Wyndham Street in downtown Guelph, faced challenges due to a significant construction project that prevented the opening of their summer patio and led to a decline in foot traffic.
To adapt to the situation, the brewery launched a beer garden at the Guelph Lawn Bowling Club earlier in the summer, proving to be a successful venture for both the brewery and the club. Colton Proveau, co-owner of Brothers Brewing, emphasized the necessity of this partnership as brewery sales plummeted by approximately 50%.
The introduction of the beer garden at the bowling club emerged as a timely solution. Blake Skinner, president of the lawn bowling club, highlighted the added element of fun the beer garden brought, attracting newcomers to try the sport and enhancing the overall experience.
Both new and long-time fans are embracing this new offering. Mathew and Jenna Holdom, siblings from Guelph, shared their enthusiasm for the Brothers Brewing patio and their newfound interest in lawn bowling at the beer garden. Emily Gibson, a seasoned lawn bowler, commended the vibrant atmosphere at the club and the positive impact of the beer garden on the turnout.
