“High-pressure Weather Causing Freeview TV Disruptions”

Date:

Due to the current sunny weather, Freeview users may encounter disruptions in their TV service until Friday. This issue is attributed to a high-pressure system lingering over the UK, causing interference with the signals essential for transmitting TV channels nationwide.

High-pressure conditions alter the transmission of signals from local and distant transmitters, leading to disruptions like picture distortions, freezing, and signal loss. Freeview has warned viewers of potential reception problems from June 24th to June 26th, 2026, advising against retuning TVs as the issue will resolve once the high-pressure system dissipates.

While viewers cannot prevent these weather-related disturbances, an alternative to traditional aerial-based TV is Freely, a service provided by the same organization as Freeview. Freely delivers television content via broadband, rendering it immune to weather interference. Users can enjoy over 50 live and on-demand channels, pause live TV, receive personalized recommendations, and access an interactive program guide without being affected by changing weather conditions.

Consider switching to Freely for uninterrupted viewing experience, free from weather-related disruptions.
