Apple has rolled out a crucial update for new iPhone users to address a wireless charging glitch affecting some devices. The issue hampers wireless charging, forcing impacted users to resort to MagSafe charging. Although Apple notes only a small number of users are affected, it is recommended for all users to update their devices promptly.
The update is particularly essential for iPhone 17 series, including the Pro and Pro Max models, as well as the iPhone Air. Apple clarified that the update resolves a charging problem for a limited number of users experiencing issues with wired charging when the battery is nearly empty.
Updating your device is straightforward. Navigate to Settings, tap on General, and select Software Update. Look for iOS 26.5.1 and choose to update immediately or schedule it for nighttime. Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection or ample mobile data as the update is a hefty 13.6GB download.
