Tesco has issued a warning that Clubcard vouchers worth £17 million are nearing their expiration date at the end of this month. These vouchers, distributed every three months in February, May, August, and November, have a validity period of two years.
The vouchers scheduled to expire were initially distributed in May 2024 and will lose their value after 11.59 pm on May 31. Tesco customers earn Clubcard points for their purchases, with one point awarded for every £1 spent in stores or for every two liters of fuel purchased at Tesco fuel stations. Additional points can be accumulated through transactions made with Tesco Bank and Tesco Mobile.
To qualify for a Clubcard voucher worth £1.50 to be used at Tesco, a minimum of 150 points is required. By utilizing Clubcard vouchers with Rewards Partners such as Pizza Express, Alton Towers, or Hotels.com, customers can increase the value of their vouchers by double or triple.
If customers wish to extend the expiration date of their vouchers, they can make a small purchase on the Tesco Clubcard Rewards webpage, with the remaining balance credited back to their Clubcard account. Spending a minimal amount, such as 50p, ensures the maximum balance is reinstated in the Clubcard account.
With over 24 million members, Tesco emphasizes the importance of utilizing Clubcard vouchers for discounts at partner restaurants, savings on various UK attractions, railcards, or hotel bookings to save money. Shama Wilson, Tesco Group Membership and Loyalty Director, urges customers to check their Clubcard accounts for any remaining vouchers to redeem before the expiry date.
