“EE Introduces Advanced Scam Guard Service for Mobile Users”

Date:

EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing number of scams targeting mobile users in the UK. The upgrade, priced at £2 per month for EE pay-monthly customers, aims to provide improved protection against cyber threats.

Since its initial launch in 2024, Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the updated version, EE anticipates doubling this number in the next year, offering subscribers even more robust security measures.

The new Scam Guard features AI Triple-Lock Protection, a set of digital safety tools powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine. This includes Safe Email, which offers proactive scam protection for email accounts, Safe SMS to detect advanced scams in text messages, and Safe Web to block malicious websites during online activities.

Moreover, the upgrade introduces Scam Assistant, enabling customers to seek advice by uploading screenshots of potential scam content. Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring are also included to track suspicious online activities and provide instant notifications for prompt action.

Malcolm Cubitt, EE’s Director of Product, Mobile, emphasized the importance of staying ahead of evolving fraud threats, with AI technology making scams more sophisticated and challenging to identify. The enhanced Scam Guard service reflects EE’s commitment to customer protection through innovative solutions and continuous investment in cybersecurity measures.
