A man engulfed in flames in a garden was swiftly transported to a hospital in Coventry via an air ambulance. The incident took place in Gosford Green on Thursday, where police, ambulance, fire crews, and the air ambulance responded to provide on-site treatment before transferring the man to the hospital.
According to West Midlands Fire Service, a man in his 50s, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reported to be on fire in the garden. The Binley Fire Station crew collaborated with medical personnel to assist the man. Subsequently, he was airlifted by the air ambulance, which landed at Stoke Green play area, to receive further medical attention.
A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson disclosed that a team from Binley fire station promptly reacted to the incident on Anglian Way, Gosford Green, around 10:45 am on Thursday. The firefighters, supported by emergency service partners, tended to the injured man before his airlift to the hospital. The statement extended sympathies to all affected by the occurrence.
The police force confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. They clarified that there is no active search for any other individuals related to the event at this time. The incident is being probed following the discovery of a seriously injured man in Coventry on the previous day at an address on Anglian Way. Authorities are conducting inquiries to determine the circumstances leading to the man’s injuries and encourage witnesses to contact them.
