Despite milder spring temperatures in other areas, colder air is expected to move in, leading to a risk of brief blizzard-like conditions around Tuesday, April 22, and persisting for several days. The most severe weather is projected to impact northern and higher-altitude regions.
According to forecasts from WXCharts, regions at highest risk of snow and blizzard conditions include parts of northern England and Scotland. These areas may witness snow showers accompanied by strong winds, especially over exposed terrain, resulting in temporary blizzard scenarios.
Temperatures in the affected regions are anticipated to drop significantly, with daytime highs ranging between 2C and 6C in the north during the coldest period. Overnight lows could plummet to 0C or below, increasing the risk of frost and hazardous icy surfaces.
Conversely, conditions in southern parts of the UK are expected to remain notably milder, with temperatures reaching 12C to 18C, particularly in southern and western England.
The weather maps show a clear contrast, with colder air moving into the North while the South retains warmer and more settled conditions.
